Unemployment benefit.

Unemployment beneift is paid either as a proportion of an average salary for the last three months of employment or as a fixed amount established by law. From January 1, 2009 the maximum unemployment benefit is RUR 4,900 ($160) and the minimum is RUR 850 ($30).
The period when welfare is paid can not exceed 12 months within 18 consecutive months. If a person does not find employment the period can be extended. However, the total period of welfare payment cannot exceed 24 months within 36 months.
