Aid in the case of the temporary incapacity to work is provided in cases of illness, taking care of an ill member of a family, quarantine, prosthesis, abortion, leave for pregnancy and giving birth, accidents both at work and at home. The amount of the aid depends on the average monthly salary during the last 12 months and employment history.

At present the amount of the aid is 60 per cent of the average salary when an employee worked less than five years, 80 per cent of the salary when between five and eight years, and 100 per cent of the salary when working history is over eight years. However, a maximum of the monthly aid is established at the level of 12,480 roubles (ap. $400).
