The company's name of a joint stock company must contain the words closed joint-stock company or the abbreviation for this, or open joint stock company or the abbreviation for this, for closed and open JSCs respectively.

A company's name can be changed by a special resolution of shareholders. Similar procedures apply to the change of name as to the alteration of the company's charter.
