Randomness v Judicial Corruption
Submitted by Russian Law Online on Thu, 06/16/2011 - 11:41
Judges for civil and criminal cases will usually be chosen by a computer: laws on civil and criminal procedure have been changed to this effect. The element of randomness in the selection of judges should weaken the power of courts’ administration and strengthen the measures against judicial corruption. Similar amendments were previously made to the Code of Commercial Procedure.
