Plastic Will Get the Push

A law ‘On the National Payment System’ has been adopted. It has legalized payments using standalone terminals, Internet money and mobile phones - all of which have been in existence for years. Now that they are legitimate, these, non-bank, payment systems can make big business.
Visa and MasterCard, despite threats to the contrary, have been allowed to use their processing centres outside Russia. Commenting on this unexpected indulgence, a Member of Parliament has said that with the development of alternative means of payment, bank cards will have to get the push.
